đż The Three Phases of Shedding

- 3 min read

Every season of release moves through three sacred stages: Release, Rest, and Renewal.
First comes Releaseâthe honest moment when we let go of what no longer fits.
Then comes Restâthe quiet space where we breathe, rebuild, and allow peace to settle in.
Finally, we reach Renewalâthe gentle return of light when new energy, clarity, and purpose begin to grow.
Together, these phases remind us that letting go isnât the endâitâs how we make room for new life to begin.
đ Part I: RELEASE â The Moment of Truth
There comes a time when your heart can no longer pretend. You may not have the words for it yet, but something deep inside whispers, âThis isnât working anymore.â
Maybe itâs a habit that leaves you feeling drained, a friendship thatâs stopped growing, or an old version of yourself that no longer feels true. You keep trying to make it fit, but your spirit has already moved on.
That quiet knowingâthe moment you stop justifying whatâs heavyâis the beginning of release.
Facing Whatâs No Longer Aligned
Letting go doesnât start with action. It starts with honesty.
You canât release what you refuse to name.
Take a deep breath and ask yourself:
âWhat in my life feels heavier than it used to?â
The answer might come as a thought, a memory, or even a feeling in your bodyâa tight chest, a sigh, a sudden wave of sadness. Donât judge it. Just notice. Awareness is where the healing begins.
This is not about blame. Itâs about truth. The kind that sets you free.
Releasing Without Guilt
Itâs natural to feel torn when you outgrow something. You might wonder, âAm I being selfish?â or âWhat if they donât understand?â
But holding on out of guilt only delays your growth.
You can be grateful for something and still know itâs time to move on.You can love someone deeply and still choose peace over pain.
Release doesnât erase loveâit simply honors timing.
Remember: you are not walking away from whatâs sacred. Youâre walking toward whatâs real.
A Simple Release Practice
Find a quiet moment this week. Light a candle.
Write down one thing you know is ready to be releasedâa thought, a fear, a pattern, or a situation.
Place your hand over your heart and say aloud:
âThis no longer belongs to me. I release it with love. I make space for peace.â
Tear or burn the paper safely.
Take a few deep breaths and imagine your body relaxing as you let the weight go.
Supportive Tools
Crystal â Obsidian A mirror of truth and protection. It helps you see clearly and stay grounded through change.
Herb â Mugwort Calms the mind and clears old energy. Brew as tea or use in a bath to support emotional release.
âItâs safe for me to tell the truth. I can release whatâs complete and trust that whatâs meant for me will remain.â
Release is the first brave act of transformation. Itâs the moment you stop trying to fix whatâs fading and start trusting that whatâs real will stay.
You donât have to rush.
You donât have to explain.
Just breathe, bless, and let it fall away.
Because every leaf that drops is making room for your next bloom.
Next .............. REST â The Sacred Pause
After youâve let go, what comes next isnât actionâitâs stillness. In Part II, weâll talk about the sacred art of rest: how to find peace in the quiet space between what ended and whatâs yet to begin.
